Sangeetha Shinde Tee
Sangeetha Shinde Tee is a writer, editor, speaker, and activist whose career spans journalism, publishing, and social advocacy across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. She has been Principal Correspondent with The Times of India, Contributing Editor at Living Well magazine, and Editor-in-Chief of Aspire in Dubai (2021–2023). She has launched and run several acclaimed publications, including Jordan’s national cultural magazine, I Magazine (nominated for a British Council Award), The Business Innovator in Europe, and, most recently, Inside43 (2023), a Nilgiris district magazine widely praised for its community voice. A crowd-funded, volunteer-driven initiative, the magazine is a 96-page, full-colour glossy that is produced every three months and distributed free across the district. Started in December 2023, it is a collaborative, volunteer effort of some distinction, bringing together voices and stories from around the Nilgiris, bringing to light untold stories and acting as an accessible curator of the pulse of the district, both past and present, to create a living narrative of life in the district.
She is the author of five books, among them Amman: Story, A Moral Murder and Other Tales from the Blue Hills, The Book of Anglo-Indian Tales, and The Naked Indian Woman. These have been positively reviewed in Femina, The Hindu, Indian Express, BBC, and The Week. Three stories from A Moral Murder were adapted for the stage in 2024. Her viral essay I Am an Indian Woman went viral and has been republished globally via Mind's Journal and Vidura, the in-house magazine of the Press Association of India.
As an international speaker, Sangeetha has addressed platforms ranging from Amnesty International in London to the European Parliament and IYTE in Turkey, as well as DSSC in Wellington, on issues including women’s rights and self-awareness. She has judged literary contests, coached beauty pageant contestants, delivered keynote lectures, and shared panels with literary figures such as Mark Tully and Linda Larsen. In 2019, she was named South India’s ‘Most Inspirational Woman of the Year’. She recently curated the Spoken Word and Tribal pageant for the Nilgiris Roots festival, working with the six indigenous tribes of the Nilgiris to bring together their personal journeys and present a first-ever pageant that featured over 60 tribe members walking the ramp.
Currently MD of Incubation Worldwide UK, she is under contract with a US publisher for two more books, the first one — The Unseen Goddess — having been long-listed by the American Women’s Book Association in 2025, and that has received five-star reviews in The San Francisco Review and Kirkus.
Beyond her professional achievements, she has designed interiors across the UK, Europe and India, is a proud member of Rotary Coonoor, and has personally rescued 59 animals. She has recently started writing and directing musicals and plays. Her driving passion, however, remains amplifying unheard voices, fighting for equality, justice and fair play with unrelenting conviction.
